PLANNING

Context and future growth are essential to the life span of a building. We, at DesignLeveL, view existing site conditions and context as an architectural opportunity rich in possibilities for discovery, transformation and use. The subtleties of place with respect to its natural surroundings and community context provide for a studied harmony between a building and its environment. Through rigorous site analysis, including the study of sight lines, solar orientation, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, access and parking, we determine the most cohesive solution. We prefer to tread lightly on the land as we believe a building conceived of and for its specific site is, by nature, sustainable.  In addition, we work with our clients to plan for flexible future growth, developmental, and functional changes in both our master site and facility plan efforts. We focus on planning principles at the facility level that align departmental and strategic goals to ensure that operational efficiencies and functional goals are realized.  We then play them out in various scenarios to find the most balanced solution for the now and then.

INTERIOR DESIGN

In today’s culture, 90% of peoples’ time is spent indoors. This means the materials we select can have an effect on the health of those who occupy the spaces. Therefore, we only specify materials and processes that are sensitive to both the interior and exterior environments whenever possible.  We also understand the significance an interior space can have on people’s mood and productivity.  At DesignLeveL, we work closely with our clients to understand their intended responses for their spaces whether it’s restful, energetic, meditative, or inspiring. We then work to balance the feel, materials and spatial composition to make
spaces that are meaningful and successful.

ARCHITECTURE

Architecture is about taking ideas and through research and exploration, use movement, light and materiality to produce functionally beautiful buildings that stimulate memories and experiences.  The process starts from the first time an idea is mentioned to the time the first user enters the architecture. Therefore, we believe in a continual and integral design process; providing master planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration services.
